Within the cooperation of Centre for Human Rights and the Council of Europe, Faculty of Law had an honour to host, for the first time, one high representative of the Council of Europe. Namely, on January 26th 2016 the meeting was held with Mr Philippe Boillat - Director General of the Human Rights and Rule of Law, Council of Europe. In the full Ceremony Room, the meeting started with the welcoming remarks of Prof. Dr. Sima Avramović, Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade who gave his full support to this cooperation. Then, Mr Boillat gave a keynote speech on the topic “Bringing the Human Rights Back Home - The Role of the Faculties”, after which Mr Mikhail Lobov, Head of Human Rights Policy and Co-operation Department, Council of Europe gave a short lecture on the topic: “Europe Recent Developments Regarding the Reform of the European Court of Human Rights”. The meeting was continued with lectures of two professors of Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, Ms Ivana Krstić, Associate Professor, who spoke on the topic: “The Importance of Legal Education in the Area of Human Rights”, and Mr Tanasije Marinković, Associate Professor, who spoke on the topic: “European Court of Human Rights and National Jurisprudence”. The meeting was attended by Ms Milica Vesovic, Project Co-ordinator, Human Rights National Implementation Division, Council of Europe and Ms Silvija Panovic Djuric, Project Manager, Council of Europe Belgrade Office.
