On Friday, April 15, in the Conference Room of the Faculty of Law, Centre for Human Rights and GIZ have organized presentation of the analysis of legal protection against discrimination in Serbia, within the project “Legal protection against discrimination in Southeast Europe”. Results of the analyses were presented by Prof. Dr. Ivana Krstić, who has prepared the entire analysis. The purpose of the research was recognizing good practice, as well as challenges and systematic actions directed to the successful legal protection against discrimination in Serbia. Analysis deals with application of anti-discriminatoryprovisions by Commissioner for Protection of the Equality, Ombudsman and judiciary, while taking into account access to the justice, social awareness about legal protection and other practical aspects. Part of the analysis is dedicated to the education in Serbia and the question whether faculties are organizing adequate courses on anti-discriminatory law, as well as whether anti-discriminatory aspect is integrated into their curricula. After the presentation of the analysis, Commissioner for Protection of the Equality – Brankica Janković and representatives of Office for Human and Minority Rights and international and non-governmental organizations took part in the public debate.
